Andrea Williams is my newest hero. After discovering on a vacation to Bhutan a year or so ago that no map of the capital city existed, she had an idea (to make a map of Thimphu, Bhutan,) she didn’t take no for an answer (it took her a few tries, but Business Bhutan was willing to work with her,) and the good people at the weekly paper and growing publishing concern Business Bhutan saw an opportunity with what she was offering (they’re going to sell sponsorships of the map.)
Don’t you love it when someone sees a need and goes out of their way to make it happen? Even when the solution isn’t necessarily obvious? And in this case, required her leaving the comfort and safety of her regular job in Canada to come to Bhutan for an uncertain arrangement?
That’s why she’s my newest hero. Here’s to taking risks, not playing it safe, running with your passion and brainstorms and making them real. She writes about it, a bit, here.

Woah, thanks for the props, Lisa! As such a well-informed expert on Bhutan, I am so pleased you like my idea.
Here’s a shot of my draft city centre map. An artist from VAST is doing a great job of converting this into something really classy:
